Do Subliminal Messages Really Work – Subliminals And The Subconscious Mind
By Trevor Johnson on May 8, 2010 in Self Improvement
A lot of people might have asked this question: do subliminal messages really work? Do these hidden subliminal messages have anything to do with marketing, advertising and therapies? Surely if they can affect the subconscious mind directly without the need to communicate with the conscious then it stands to reason that someone, somewhere is using them right now. Maybe on you!
Subliminal messages are messages which pass through your subconscious mind, therefore communicating directly with your brain without being conscious about it. They may be in forms of visuals or audio, spanning a wide variety of medium where these messages could be put.
Most people believe that marketers have used subliminal messages to market their products. They may insert various words in video which are so fast that only the subconscious mind tends to remember it. Others say that some audio tracks have certain messages hidden beneath the audible range of the human ear, making only the subconscious mind hear these messages.
However, as you know more, you tend to ask once again: do subliminal messages really work? The answer should be yes, they do work. Some people do not say that it works because they do not feel it working. How can you feel something which works if you do not perceive? Only by experiments in controlled environments can tell that they do actually work.
Since they work at such a deep level, subliminal messages are great ways of helping people switch back their lives to the positive side. Therapies using subliminal messages are nowadays common – hypnosis often calls them embedded commands, as does NLP. Videos with very fast flashing statements can be used, as well as music with hidden audio tracks of positive statements that talk to the subconscious mind.
These subliminal messages’ powers could be used for the better, and to help people with psychological powers. By directing these messages into the mind, messages are then absorbed by it – without the need to go through the consciousness.
